Domaine de la belle is a small vineyard situated in the côtes de duras appellation, bordering on the appellations of Bordeaux and Bergerac.
Delphine and Gilles Vazeux took on a seriously ambitious challenge when in 2002 they decided to become winemakers and settle down at Domaine de la Belle.
Gilles put his skills as a researcher and Doctor of Biology to good use and, with a wily mix of innovation and intuition, succeeded in extracting the best from his vineyard both through his use of environmentally sustainable vineyard techniques and through his wine-making methods. Gilles and Delphine have stuck to their guns throughout over ethical issues in which they believe and they have adapted their production methods to suit their terroir while continually experimenting with the best blends for their grape varieties.
The wager set in 2002 has been won and they now produce wines constant in both quality and taste and faithful to the image they always had.
Perhaps in reflection of their makers, the wines have an original character; their identity best expressed by a remarkable balance of fruit and freshness on the one side and a full, robust body on the other.
